FAQs

Q: What if my team isn’t going, but I want to?
A: You can still race! We will place you on a team in the open division
Q: I’m currently on an MRL team, where do I indicate what team I’m on?
A: Please checkout with the “Current Racer” registration. At checkout there will be a section to fill out your team information
Q: Can my friend who’s not a current racer guest race on my current team?
A: Current teams cannot be added to or have substitutions. Guest racers will race as part of the open division. Don’t worry though, we’ll all be racing together so you’ll still be able to hang out with your friends!
Q: I can only make it for part of the weekend, can I still race?
A: Absolutely! When you checkout there will be a form you’ll fill out indicating what races you’ll be participating in.

Individual Scoring
Racers are competing against racers in their own age bracket according to the NASTAR handicap chart.

All Around Champion
The man and woman with the lowest combined handicap from Super G, GS, and Slalom will be crowned the All Around Champion

Team Scoring
Team scoring will be the same as during the regular season; top 6 racer team points + bonus 1 point for racers 7-9. Team points from the morning race will be added to the team points from the afternoon race for each time to calculate the best combined team point score.

Big Dog
Racers will be placed on area teams based on the average team points earned during Friday’s races. Racers with the highest team points make the team. If racers cannot participate on Friday, they will be placed on area teams based on highest team point average throughout the season. The number of racers will be determined by minimum participants per area. Top 66% of racers score, ie - top 3 of 5, top 4 of 6, top 6 of 9… No bonus points will be awarded.
